(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man was arrested after police spotted him driving a stolen vehicle Sunday.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. Seymour Police Officer Ben Miller attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a car in the area of East Brown Street and Marley Lane.
Officer Miller immediately recognized the car as the same one reported stolen on Friday.
The driver accelerated, attempting to evade the officer fleeing west on East Oak Street. After a short vehicle pursuit the car pulled into a driveway in the 600 block of South Obrien Street and the man driving exited fleeing on foot.
Officer Miller pursued the suspect on foot as he ran behind a residence and forced his way inside. A short time later with the assistance of additional responding officers they arrested 33-year-old James Grissom.
Grissom is facing charges of auto theft, resisting arrest by fleeing in a vehicle and on foot, residential entry and driving while his driver's license was suspended with a prior conviction.
