(BLOOMINGTON) - Three men were arrested after Bloomington Police say they robbed a man July 16 at the Days Inn located at the 45/46 Bypass.
Police say that over the course of the past week, police located the three men who beat the man up and stole his clothes.
The 32-year-old victim told police he and a 23-year-old woman checked into the motel on Monday of last week. The man said he attempted to purchase narcotics and there were multiple people who came in and out of his room.
One man, 23-year-old Jeremy New, offered to give the victim drugs in exchange for the victim's shirt and backpack.
New was at the motel with 21-year-old Dakota Elsmore and 21-year-old Miles Sealy.
New told police he was at the motel because the victim wanted a tattoo. New told police he was setting up his equipment when the female and the victim went into the bathroom. The female came out about a minute later saying the victim had touched her inappropriately.
The victim remained in the bathroom.
Police say Sealy broke down the door and dragged the male victim out of the bathroom. Sealy and New began beating the victim, took his things - a shirt, Nike Jordan shoes and watch and threw him out of the hotel room.
The victim suffered bruises to his arms and back and other injuries.
The female told police Elsmore had pointed a silver .25 caliber gun at the victim and threatened to kill him.
The victim went to a nearby gas station to clean up where he met some friends and left with them for the night.
He returned to the motel the next day to check on the female and found the room empty. The room had been ransacked with furniture and the television damaged and all his belongings missing.
The victim paid for the damage - $350 and called police.
The victim identified his attackers by name and in a police lineup.
Elsmore was in possession of the handgun at the time of his arrest.
Sealy and New both admitted to their part in the crime.
