(HAYSVILLE) - Dubois County Sheriff deputies are searching for a Daviess County man who crashed his truck on Haysville Road Sunday afternoon and then fled the scene on foot.
Police say the man who they are not identifying until a warrant is issued for his arrest suffered a laceration to his head after being thrown from the vehicle.
Just after 1 p.m. the driver was traveling east on Haysville Road in a yellow Ford Ranger when for an unknown reason the truck went left of center, continued off the north side of the road, where it lost a tire and flipped.
When deputies arrived they directed the injured man to a nearby vehicle and that is when he took off running into the woods on the south side of the road.
Deputies with the assistance of Indiana State Troopers, Conservation officers and officers from Huntingburg Police Department and Martin County deputies along with three K-9 units searched the area for more than three hours but were unable to locate the male.
If anyone has information about the accident or where the male can be located they are asked to call the Dubois County Sheriff's Department (812) 482-3522.
