(BEDFORD) - Start your holiday weekend off with a visit to the Brooks Cabin next to the Charles C. Deam Wilderness.
U.S. Forest Service staff will be on site Friday, August 31, from Noon until 4 p.m. with presentations about this unique area, how to visit the wilderness using Leave No Trace ethics, and how the Forest Service manages the wilderness.
A special appearance by the Hoosier National Forest mule team and their handler will occur from Noon until 1 p.m. Find out how the mules help the staff build and maintain trails.
Kids can also receive a Junior Wilderness Ranger activity book and work on their badge.
Don't forget to plan some time to take a hike in this beautiful area.
This activity is part of the U.S. Forest Service's "It's All Yours" campaign, an effort to connect all Americans to their national forests and grasslands. #ItsAllYours
