(COLUMBUS) - Ronald Reagan was in the White House, Pete Rose was the manager of the Cincinnati Reds, and Back to the Future was the top box-office blockbuster of the year.
That is also when, according to the Columbus Police Department, a recently-found wallet was last in the possession of its former owner.
The lost item was recovered by a construction crew working on the Cummins office building in Columbus. They returned it to the police department, which attempted to track down the owner. Law enforcement determined, according to the contents of the wallet, it had gone missing around 1985. When relatives were located in a neighboring county, it was learned that the owner had passed away in the late 1990s.
