(BLOOMINGTON) - One man was arrested after a fight broke out at Brothers Bar & Grill on North Walnut Street early Friday morning.
Bloomington Police officer Kaitlyn Colin was on routine patrols when she was flagged down by a concerned citizen reporting the fight.
When she arrived at around 3 a.m., about 40 to 50 people were involved but began to disperse when she arrived.
However two men in the bar continued to throw punches.
One of the men, 20-year-old IU student Ayinde Rochon, reportedly pushed Officer Colin as she attempted to break up the fight. He then pulled away from her as she attempted to place his hands behind his back.
Onlookers who had formed a circle around the fighting men, pulled on Officer Colin saying Rochon had done nothing wrong and to let him go.
Officer Colin called for backup and other officers responded to the scene.
Rochon was arrested on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement, and a felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer.
