(ORLEANS) - Orleans residents are reminded that the Town of Orleans recently entered into a contract to provide emergency alerts for area residents through the Reach Alert network.
The new service will allow the town to immediately share important information regarding a number of items, including waterline breaks/boil water advisories, road closures/delays due to construction or accidents, hazmat situations, Amber/Silver alerts, police actions, and civic events.
The service is available to those that wish to receive the alerts. If a customer does not register, they will not receive the alerts. Customers have the ability to choose either a text message, voice call or an email. Each household can register up to four phone numbers and four email addresses.
To register, go to www.reachalert.com and click on my account; select create account. Follow the prompts and enter contact information; type Orleans under network name and then click on Orleans then it comes up. Select residence or business and click on the correct address and click on it when it appears in the drop down list.
Depending which method of delivery chosen, a request will be sent to validate the transaction.
For more information, contact Reach Alert at (877) 307-8313.
