(SEYMOUR) - Seymour police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old female hospitalized.
Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said the teen, who lives in Seymour, was walking on Eighth Street between Park and Blish streets Wednesday when she was shot one time in the torso.
The girl was able to make it to Seymour Middle School on North O'Brien Street where she met a friend and they called 911.
Officers arrived at the school a few minutes later at 9:44 p.m.
The girl was transported to Schneck Medical Center and then airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
Chief Abbott says no one has been arrested and no motive has yet been established.
