(BEDFORD) - Six Indian monks from Tashi Kyil Monastery in Dehradun, Indiana are in Bedford for “Tibet Week”.
Resident can attend free events at the Downtown Depot to learn about the Tibetan culture.
Today until 4 p.m. residents can view construction of sand mandalas. From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. there will be a butter sculpture workshop and at 5 p.m. there will be a Black Hat Dance.
On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Construction of sand mandalas. From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Prayer flag worship and at 5 p.m. Chod and Skeleton Dance.
On Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Construction of sand mandalas and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Meditation and teaching on Four Noble Truths.
On Friday from: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Construction of sand mandala and from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. residents can view the completed mandala. At 5 p.m. there will be a closing ceremony and procession to the creek on Milwaukee Trail to disperse the sands in the water. At 6 p.m. there will be a Sweet tea and rice thank-you event.
