(BEDFORD) - School administrators at Bedford North Lawrence High School began an investigation after they received a tip that a student was armed with a weapon.
"As soon as we acquired this information, another administrator, our School Resource Officer, and I immediately located the student and addressed the situation," says Principal Todd Tanksley. "We were able to find a BB pistol and a CO2 BB gun. The student indicated he intended to sell the items."
Officials say the student had no intention of harming anyone.
"Law enforcement was involved and extremely helpful. Because of the possible magnitude of the situation, we responded aggressively to ensure the safety of everyone," Tanksley added. "I want to also applaud those individuals who were courageous enough to relay this information to us, and thank them for helping us keep BNL safe."
