Bertha's Mission serves 70 meals a day Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at its kitchen on Lincoln Avenue. On Wednesdays, the kitchen sends out 130 additional meals to the elderly, disadvantaged and homebound.
The Mission's budget is funded through generous community donations and grants from organizations.
Their mission is to gradually decrease the statistical data on hunger within the community through empowerment, addressing the basic life skills of everyday living, and feeding the hungry, elderly, low income, disabled or lonely citizens of Lawrence County and surrounding counties for free or at a reduced price based on their income.
