(BLOOMINGTON) - A jury found Travis Wall guilty of operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and causing an accident that killed 50-year-old Russell Stephens.
Stephen, of Martinsville, was killed just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 19 in a crash on North Walnut Street between North Old State Road 37 and East Blue Ridge Drive.
Wall was traveling southbound when he drove his car across the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 1990 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by Stephen.
Stephen was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene.
Police say 37-year-old Wall, of Bloomington, failed dexterity tests at the scene, and he submitted to a blood draw. Police believe he was under the influence of methamphetamines.
At the conclusion of Wall's jury trial Wednesday, he also had a charge of causing death when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated dismissed.
Walls will be sentenced at 11 a.m. on November 19th.
A video sentencing hearing was set for 11 a.m. Nov. 19 in Monroe Circuit Court 9. Online jail and prison records did not list Wall as being in custody.
