(SEYMOUR) - Jackson County residents may receive free dental services on Free Dentistry Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 27 at Garcia Family Dental, 321 W. Bruce St., Seymour.
Dr. Derek Garcia and his team's goal is to improve the oral health of the community, according to a news release from the firm. Free Dentistry Day is dedicated to providing free dental care to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.
During the event, a choice of one free cleaning, filling or extraction will be provided per patient. Patients will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, approximately 108 million Americans are living without dental insurance. The staff at Garcia Family Dental hopes to educate patients on the importance of dental health and encourage them to adopt an ongoing oral care regimen.
Jackson County United Way will be on hand to provide information about United Way, 2-1-1 and Covering Kids and Families.
