(LAWRENCE CO.) - The Lawrence County Bicentennial Torch Relay will traverse city streets and country roads of Lawrence County beginning Friday.
Over two days the torch will be carried through every township of Lawrence County - from Bono to Shawswick.
The 1400 block of L Street will open both lanes of traffic for the weekend for the Bicentennial Torch Relay and celebration.
The southbound lane will close Monday and construction will resume.
The Lawrence County Bicentennial Torch Relay will step off at 9 a.m.Friday on the White River bridge in Tunnelton. The torch will be carried through all nine townships: Bono, Guthrie, Pleasant Run, Spice Valley, Marion, Shawswick, Marshall, Perry, and Indian Creek highlighting each historical treasure of those areas.
The torch relay will end at the Lawrence County Courthouse Square and Harp Commons about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
There will be 144 people carrying the torch as it winds its way through Lawrence County.
