(MITCHELL) - A Williams woman was injured early Wednesday morning when she crashed her 2002 Ford Ranger pickup into a downed tree limb in the roadway on US 50 West near Connerly Cemetery Road.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 53-year-old Debbie Schofield was traveling southwest on US 50 when her pickup struck the downed tree. The pickup veered off the south side of the roadway and traveled down a small embankment striking several small trees before coming to a stop facing the opposite direction she was traveling.
Schofield was trapped in her pickup and was assisted by another motorist who stopped to help.
She complained of pain to her face, head, chest, neck, and arms. She was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
