Oolitic Residents Could See 42 Percent Increase In Water Rates

(OOLITIC) - The Oolitic Town Council will vote on Monday, Sept. 24th on increasing the town’s water rates.

The meeting will be held at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Financial Solutions Group prepared a study and analysis of the financial reports, budgets and other data pertaining to Oolitic Municipal Water Utility.

The purpose of the report was to estimate the Utility's cash flow and financial capacity to meet its ongoing revenue requirements for operation, maintenance, as well as to improve the town's system.

At the conclusion of their study, the group recommended officials increase the water rates by 42 percent.

At 1,000 gallons customers pay $9.77 with the rate increase they would pay $13.87.
At 2,000 gallons customers pay $13.96 with the rate increase they would pay $19.82.
At 3,000 gallons customers pay $20.54 with the rate increase they would pay $29.16.
At 4,000 gallons customer pay $27.12 with the rate increase they would pay $38.50.
At 5,000 gallons customers pay $33.70 with the rate increase they would pay $47.84.
At 6,000 gallons customers pay $39.65 with the rate increase they would pay $56.29.
At 7,000 gallons customers pay $45.50 with the rate increase they would pay $64.74.
At 8,000 gallons customers pay $52.55 with the rate increase they would pay $73.19.
At 9,000 gallons customers pay $57.50 with the rate increase they would pay $81.64.
At 10,000 gallons customers pay $63.45 with the rate increase they would pay $90.09.
