(BEDFORD) - Rachel Wright will exhibit her PoART III show of paintings and poetry at the Wiley Art Gallery, beginning with a public reception on September 28 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The artist will conduct a reading of original poetry at 6 p.m.
Rachel is the author of two well-received books: Spectrum, A Poetry Memoir, and Spectrum II - Taking off my Shoes. An award-winning artist, she works in acrylics, oils, pencil, and ink. Her exhibit will also feature jewelry and small drawings. Rachel's work includes waterscapes, landscapes, portraits, still life, and abstracts.
This versatile artist is also the archivist at Padanaram Settlement and will include paintings from her private collection. As a retired adjunct professor of early childhood/elementary education at Ivy Tech, Rachel is a strong proponent of art in the schools. She teaches classes in her community as well as offering wine/art sessions.
The PoART show will run from September 28th through October 20th. The Wiley Art Gallery is located at 1402 J Street in Bedford across from the Milwaukee Depot.
The gallery is open each Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
