(SEYMOUR) - Jackson County police arrested a Seymour man Monday afternoon in the Reddington area for the murder.
Sheriff Michael Carothers says 44-year-old Brian Michael Cogdill was arrested without incident at a home off U.S. 31 in the 10000 block of East County Road 800N north of Seymour.
Police say Cogdill is charged with the murder of 19-year-old Emma Jean Jamison, who was living in Seymour but was from Lebanon.
Sheriff Carothers says the murder happened Thursday at a home near the East Fork White River south of the Indiana American Water Company. Police surrounded the home and arrested Cogdill shortly after 3 p.m.
Cogdill was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 4:18 p.m. and is being held without bond pending his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court.
Police are not releasing details of the murder as the investigation continues.
