(SULLIVAN) - A week-long investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Sullivan man after family members reported missing medication from an elderly relative’s home.
Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says deputies arrested 31-year-old Kristopher Spivey late Friday night.
Spivey had been hired to do handyman work at the elderly man's home.
Investigators used surveillance video to determine that Spivey made more than one Sunday visit to the victim's house, while the elderly man was at church.
Spivey is facing a felony charge of burglary and a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft. He is being held on a $24,000 bond with 10 percent allowed.
Sheriff Cottom encourages all residents to keep close track of their medications and to especially watch out for those preying on the elderly.
