(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police received a report of a male showing signs of “unusual behavior” at Guide Pointe Church on 15th Street.
When officers arrived they found 33-year-old Austin Perry laying on the sidewalk.
"When officers tried to speak with him he became verbally abusive and could not stand on his own because of his level of intoxication," Chief Terry Moore added. "Austin was asked to sit down several times and refused while he continued to cause a disturbance."
When officers attempted to handcuff Perry he began kicking officers and resisting arrest.
"Officers had to forcibly put handcuffs on him," Chief Moore added.
Perry, of 409 Mount Pleasant Rd., was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and public intoxication.
