(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington North High School student is in a juvenile detention center after he allegedly stabbed a friend while at school.
Bloomington Police officers were called to the school on North Kinser Pike at 9:48 a.m. Friday to take a report of a stabbing that happened during band class on Oct. 10th
According to police, a 17-year-old male stabbed his friend in the leg with a pocket knife for playing music that made him feel sad.
The victim, who is friends with the boy that stabbed him didn't want his friend to get in trouble so he attempted to hide the wound and keep the incident a secret.
The injury was discovered when the injured teen limped into a doctor's office for a scheduled appointment. The appointment was not to treat the injury.
Police arrested the 17-year-old male on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon and he was transported to Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village detention center.
