(BLOOMINGTON) - A couple wanted on an attempted murder charge turned themselves in on Thursday.
Bloomington Police Lt. John Kovach says 39-year-old Everett Williams was the shooter and his 30-year-old girlfriend Heather Delbridge was the get-away driver. Both are from Indianapolis and are being held without bond.
Police say the couple got into a verbal argument with a 45-year-old male on August 23. The male told police the couple owed him more than $3.000 for marijuana. The three argued over that drug debt. The fight turned physical and escalated into Williams shooting the male.
When police and emergency crews responded to Jackson Heights apartments. They found the male lying next to the mailbox. The male suffered two gunshot wounds to his lower left leg and had been shot once in his right thigh.
At the hospital, the man said he recognized a woman named "Heather" driving the shooter in a silver sports utility vehicle. The man also told police he knew his assailant by the street name "Scrappy Doo."
Police issued felony warrants for their arrests.
