(BEDFORD) - The deadline for residents to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Tuesday. Voters need to complete the online registration form before midnight. This can be done either by visiting indianavoters.com or by texting ‘Indiana’ to 2VOTE (28683).
Absentee or early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 10th and continues through Nov. 5th in the voter registration office of the courthouse.
Weekday hours at the courthouse are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Early voting will end at Noon on Nov. 5th. The office will be closed from Noon until 1 p.m. each day for lunch.
Saturday voting at the Lawrence County Courthouse and Emerson Gym in Mitchell will be October 27th and November 3rd from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Satellite Saturday early voting will be at Heltonville School on Oct. 27th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and at Oolitic Town Hall on Nov. 3rd from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
On Election Day you no longer vote at your precinct. A registered Lawrence County resident who has a valid ID can vote at ANY of these centers:
