Downtown Derby Week in Bedford

(BEDFORD) - This week is full of activity during Downtown Derby Week in Bedford.

Widow Display Contest

There is still time for downtown merchants to submit their window display for judging.
Quinn, a professional space maker in New York City will select a winner.

The winner will receive a traveling trophy and $100 cash prize.

Arc Walk

Today(Tuesday, Oct. 9) you can tour the Architectural wonders of downtown Bedford. There was be two tours one at noon and another at 6 p.m. The walk will begin at the Lawrence County Museum and is free to attend.

Munch at Museum

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, explore Lawrence County then and now with Dennis Matthews at noon at the Lawrence County Museum.

The cost is $10 and includes a potato bar lunch. You must make reservations by calling 812-275-4493.

Sarah Schafer Whodunit Dinner

The Limestone Cafe is hosting a special mystery meal Wednesday, Oct. 10 that includes a night of fright. There will be two dinners one at 6 p.m. and a second at 8 p.m. Seating is limited. The cost is $22. Reserve your seat by calling at 812-279-0499.

Friday will conclude the week-long scavenger hunt at the museum.

Saturday Hoedown at The Harp

Harp Commons will come alive with entertainment beginning at 8 a.m.

Chili will be served from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Farmers Market & Craft Fair will be taking place on the square.

It time to pick your team for Bedford's first annual Bed Race. The Bedford Bed Race is a competition where 3-5 person teams build and decorate their own "beds" to race around the Courthouse Square.

Four Race Divisions are - Business, School, Seniors, and Open.

The cost is $25 per entry.

To submit an entry form go to www.downtownbedford.org or pick one up at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce or Bedford Federal Savings Bank.

Team Check-in is 11 a.m. until Noon at Harp Commons. Parade of Beds will begin at 12:15 p.m. The race will start after the bed parade at the Start-Finish Line in front of the Miss Indiana Statue.

An overall award will be given for People's Choice

The day will include some great free entertainment at Harp Commons.
