(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington area residents will be able to receive free dentistry services at Southern Indiana Smiles on Friday, Oct. 26.
The services are being provided by Dr. Erica Hunt and team at Southern Indiana Smiles, with assistance from Landmark Family Dental Care, as part of a nationwide effort called Free Dentistry Day, according to a press release.
During Free Dentistry Day, individuals will get their choice of one free cleaning, filling or extraction between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 457 South Landmark Avenue in Bloomington. Patients will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Free Dentistry Day is aimed to help the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.
"We understand that many people in our community and across the nation haven't been to the dentist for a long period of time. Some don't understand the importance of dental health, but more often than not, they don't have the financial means," Hunt said in the release. "This event is a great opportunity for us to share our time and resources with those less fortunate and give back to the community."
