(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Police Officer Clay Blackburn was not injured after another motorist pulled out into the side of his police cruiser on State Road 37, Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, at 3:59 p.m., Officer Blackburn, 24, was traveling north on State Road 37 near Stevens Lane in the right lane, when 56-year-old Cindy Johnson, of Mitchell, pulled her Chevrolet Equinox out from Stevens Lane onto State Road 37.
The Equinox collided into the side of the police vehicle a Dodge Charger.
Johnson told LCPD officer she pulled out onto State Road 37 because she thought Officer Blackburn had on his turn signal to turn.
Neither Officer Blackburn or Johnson was injured in the crash.
