(NEWBERRY) - A Newberry man is facing charges following a standoff with police.
Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff's Department arrested 45-year-old Brian Byrd, on felony charges of intimidation and pointing a firearm at another person.
According to a press release from the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Deputy David Elmore responded to a shooting complaint on East County Line Road in Newberry, just south of Scotland, on Saturday, at 3:53 p.m.
Deputies say Byrd allegedly fired a shot at another man.
When deputies arrived to investigate, Byrd refused to come out of his residence. A crisis negotiator was brought in and after lengthy telephone conversations surrendered.
