(BEDFORD) - Saturday, October 27th, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs, with most obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
The Prescription Drug Take Back Day provides an opportunity for citizens to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies want to remind residents there is a drop of p bin located in the Department's upper lobby. Residents can drop off unwanted drugs all year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
