(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was injured after a soccer ball blew into the roadway Monday afternoon causing him to crash his motorcycle.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 57-year-old Floyd Cox suffered a leg injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say at 2:38 p.m., Cox was traveling north on Spencer Pike Road, near Popcorn Road, on his 2003 Yamaha XVS950 when a soccer ball rolled into the road, causing him to swerve and crash.
The accident report says that Cox may have been drinking before the crash. He did consent to a blood-alcohol test and those results are pending.
