(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford women complained of neck pain after the vehicle they were in struck a utility pole Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report, 38-year-old Mary Edmondson was traveling southwest on Leatherwood Road, near South Leatherwood Road when her 2007 Ford went off the road and hit the pole. Police say the roadway was wet from a recent rain shower, which caused the car to slide.
Edmondson and her passenger 34-year-old Erica Morgan were not wearing their seat belts and both complained of neck pain.
Edmondson was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of driving while her driver's license was suspended.
