(UNDATED) - Counterfeit money has turned up over the last couple of days.
A $100 dollar bill was found in the West Washington High School Parking lot this past Friday night, during a home football game. The was later determined to be counterfeit.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
Two $20 dollar bills were recently passed in Salem, at a gas station. The bills were later determined to be counterfeit and were turned into the Salem Police Department.
Local business owners are encouraged to take extra precautions to prevent being a victim. Counterfeit Detection Pens are
effective on most currency and can be purchased online or from most office supply stores.
