(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Fire Department firefighters were called to the Hampton Inn on Bloomington’s Northside after a fire broke out in a third-floor guest room Tuesday afternoon.
Rooms were being evacuated as firefighters arrived, to find smoke coming out of a third-floor window.
According to Bloomington Fire Department Sgt. Brandon Hudson, the fire was contained to one room but there was smoke and water damage throughout the hotel.
Hotel staff and a maintenance man helped firefighters clear everyone out of the hotel.
Guests staying at the hotel were relocated to Home2 Suites.
