(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington restaurant manager was arrested Friday after a 10-year-old boy reported a man had taken or attempted to take a photograph of him in the men’s restroom of a McDonald’s restaurant on State Road 46 West, between Bloomington and Ellettsville.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain, the boy immediately told a family member what happened. He reported that while in the stall, he saw cell phone held over the top of the door, and was likely taking a photo of him.
The boy told his grandmother that a man wearing black shoes held a cellphone with red and white stripes on the case over the wall and took pictures.
Sheriff detectives later examined video from the surveillance system and saw a man talking with another person. A short time later that man entered the restroom with a cell phone in hand. He left the bathroom before the boy. The boy is seen on video talking with his family member about what happened.
Employees observing the video with detectives identified the man to be 35-year-old Tyler Matthew Johnson, the manager.
Johnson was arrested by detectives on charges of attempted child molesting a level 5 felony, and voyeurism, Level 6 felony.
