(CAMPBELLSBURG) - After receiving multiple complaints of deer located with only the head and antlers cut off along county roads, Indiana Conservation Officers Everhart and Jahn stepped up their patrols in Jackson County.
It didn't take long for their efforts to pay off, as they witnessed a man stop and shoot from his truck in the roadway.
No deer was killed and the man was arrested. It is not clear if he is the one responsible for the killings. Anyone with information about the killings is asked to contact conservation officers.
They were assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and US Forest Service personnel.
Call (800) 847-4367 for immediate response to turn in a poacher. Dispatchers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week or you can file a complaint online here.
