(LOOGOOTEE) - The city of Loogootee is hosting a community Thanksgiving event on Thanksgiving Day.
The event is free and open to the public.
Mayor Noel Harty started planning this year's event right after last years Thanksgiving and admits some may wonder why he was having it on the actual holiday when many spend the time with family and friends. He says he's received no negative feedback and only support.
Local businesses, churches, and school students have donated time, money and materials for the meal which will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. John's Center.
