(WASHINGTON CO.) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a burglary in progress Friday around 8:15 a.m., on State Road 160.
Chief Deputy Brent Miller arrived at the residence and the suspect fled from the scene in a black Dodge Truck.
Chief Deputy Miller began a pursuit of the suspect, who went east on State Road 160. The pursuit ended in Clark County after the suspect drove over "stop sticks" and deflated all four tires.
Police arrested 40-year-old Michael Bary of Salem on charges of burglary, theft, resisting arrest by fleeing in a vehicle and driving while his driver's license was suspended with a prior conviction.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department was assisted by members of the Clark County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
