(MITCHELL) - The Small Town Christmas celebration is making a return to downtown Mitchell. In
Mitchell Park Board member Joe Stewart announced the event is set to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday. Santa Claus will be present to take Christmas wishes from boys and girls.
Each child will receive candy and fruit after sitting on the lap of the Chief Elf. Santa will be featured prominently in a Santa house situated on the gravel lot between Friendship Park and Mullis Law Office.
There will be carriage and sleigh rides through the downtown, a fire truck parade, and a chili supper, sponsored by the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department.
All activities will be centered around Friendship Park. Seventh Street from Mississippi Avenue to Main Street, and from Main Street to Warren Street will be closed during the fire truck parade.
