(BEDFORD) - Becky’s Place will host their annual Christmas Open House and Silent Auction on Tuesday, December 4th.
The event will be held at the Shelter located at 1108 Fifth Street from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
There will be shelter tours with former residents, a silent auction, Christmas cookies and holiday decorations.
"We are really excited about our Open House this year because we will have a silent auction", says Corrina Hayes, Becky's Place Program Director, "A lot of our auction items are donated from local businesses, like The Ratkovich Farm and many others. We are so blessed to have so much support from this community! We are encouraging everyone to come and tour the shelter and see what their donations/support and prayers are going towards."
Those attending will be greeted by one of the shelter's alumni residents. They will guide the tour, answer questions and share their experiences and stories of Becky's Place.
"What is so neat about past residents coming and sharing their story, is that every family has a different story of Becky's Place because we treat everyone individually and with love and support," Hayes says. "So they will all have different stories. Since we have opened in 2012 we have served more than 600 families from Lawrence County and surrounding counties."
The shelter will be decorated for the Christmas holiday.
"This is a great time to come and check out Becky's Place to see how you can get involved," Hayes added. "Our Volunteer meetings are every 3rd Tuesday of the month."
