(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Friday morning after he broke into a woman’s home and allegedly raped her.
According to Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore, the woman reported that after she went to bed on Friday night, 37-year-old Damon Evans entered her house wanting to talk about working to improve their relationship.
"The woman was battered and confined from calling for help while Evans forced unwanted sexual intercourse," Chief Moore added.
Officers located Evans in the 2100 block of G Street.
Evans was booked into the Lawrence County Security Center at 6:47 a.m. Saturday on charges of rape, domestic battery, criminal confinement, interfering with reporting a crime, residential entry, and possession of marijuana.
