(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington couple was arrested after police were called to a domestic dispute involving a gun on Friday afternoon.
According to a Bloomington Police report, the department received a 911 call at 1:40 p.m. reporting the incident at an apartment in the 500 block of South Basswood Drive.
When police arrived a woman told them 24-year-old Tyreke Young had knocked her to the floor and was choking her. He then allegedly pointed a loaded firearm at her threatening to harm her.
Young had left the home before police arrived. He was arrested later when police were called back to the apartment after he broke in and refused to leave.
Young, 24, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, strangulation, intimidation, possession of a firearm by a violent felon and burglary. His bond was set at $5,500.
After interviewing the man, police returned to the apartment and arrested the woman 19-year-old Trisha Powell, of the same address, on charges of domestic battery. Her bond is set at $2,500.
