(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands presented Janie Johnson of Shoals and Alverta Hart of Mitchell the Hoosier Uplands Community Services award for 2018.
The award the highest honor given by Hoosier Uplands was presented during Hoosier Upland's annual dinner.
Johnson has served on the Hoosier Uplands board of directors since 2006 and is a long-time teacher in Shoals Community Schools.
Hart is an employee of Hoosier Uplands, active in her church and many volunteer activities in Mitchell.
"We are proud and honored to have Janie on our board and Alverta as one of our employees," said David Miller, Hoosier Uplands chief executive officer. "Janie and Alverta both represent the best in people and they are well deserving of this award."
Hoosier Uplands is a nonprofit agency serving Lawrence, Orange, Washington, Martin and Crawford counties with social services programs since 1966.
