(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested early Friday morning after police found him lying naked on a front porch in the 6100 block of State Road 60 West.
Police arrested 30-year-old Justin Bowden on a charge of public nudity.
According to a Lawrence Superior Court II probable cause affidavit, police were called to the home after the resident found Bowden nacked on his front porch. When officers arrived they found Bowden wearing just a piece of carpet around his waist. Police say the carpet didn't belong to the homeowner and they are unsure when Bowden got it.
Bowden told police he had been walking on the railroad tracks behind the house when he took his clothes off. The caller told police Bowden claimed he was being chased by someone. The caller says he refused to answer the door because he didn't know the man who was not wearing any clothes.
Bowden told police he took his clothes off because the person chasing him was attempting to rob him.
Police say Bowden appeared to be under the influence drugs.
