(BLOOMINGTON) - Presentations on the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) will be given by Tom Myers (amateur radio call sign K9TEM), Monroe County ARES Emergency Coordinator, and A.J. Ragusa (amateur radio call sign KC9EVU), Monroe County RACES representative.
ARES is the national ham radio organization--American Radio Relay League's arm of amateur radio emergency services. RACES is the US Government's arm of amateur emergency services.
The meeting will be January 4 at 7 p.m. at Bloomington City Hall's Council Chambers (Room 115 of the Showers Building) on 401 N Morton Street.
The public is invited, the event is free, parking is free, and the southeast entrance of City Hall should be used.
The talks are hosted by the Bloomington Amateur Radio Club.
