Police Chief Mike Diekhoff says Detective Sarah Carnes was fired for improper conduct and violations of seven department regulations.
Chief Diekoff recommended to the Board of Public Safety that Cranes be terminated and they agreed unanimously.
Cranes appealed the board's decision Friday morning.
