(WEST BADEN) - Step right up to see the world’s most famous circus wagon! And don’t miss the newly refurbished 1920 historic West Baden Church.
They're part of the French Lick West Baden Museum's Homes and History for the Holidays Tour. The event will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The Barnum & Bailey Two Hemispheres circus bandwagon is being housed in a French Lick Resort warehouse for safekeeping this winter. The museum has made arrangements with the resort to show the wagon and the resort's historic car collection, which includes Tom Taggart's refurbished 1929 Rolls Royce. That part of the tour will be open from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
The historic West Baden Church has undergone an extensive renovation, thanks to the Second Baptist Church in Bloomington.
Members are proud to participate with the museum in the unveiling of their work.
Four historic or well-known homes will keep you moving through French Lick and West Baden: the original E.B. Rhodes house built in 1901, the Hoppe home on Maple Street, the McCormick home in Kimball Acres, and the Beatty home on Summit Street.
There will be special events at the museum on December 9th, including author Wini Frances who will sign her I spy book "Christmas at a Grand Hotel." The new two-sided historic holiday ornament, featuring Sprudel and Pluto will be on sale as well as the museum's sought-after Gorge ornament.
Tickets are available at the French Lick West Baden Museum starting December 1st.
They are only $10 in advance; $12 on the day of the tour. Museum members get a 20 percent discount on tickets and other museum offerings so it might be a good time to join!
