(MITCHELL) - Troy Pritchett, who was serving as Mitchell High School interim principal, will fill the position permanently.
Pritchett, who served as vice principal was named the interim principal following the resignation of Sean Vandeventer in June.
The Mitchell school board approved the recommendation from Mitchell Community Schools Superintendent Steve Phillips and new Superintendent Mike Wilcox. Wilcox is replacing Phillips at the end of the month.
Vandeventer resigned as principal in May with an effective date of June 30. He accepted a job teaching industrial arts at Eastern Greene schools.
Pritchett will also remain the varsity football coach.
