(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford Police officers were honored and two officers received promotions Monday at the Bedford Board of Works meeting at City Hall.
Major Brian Cartwright and Sgt. Blake Wade received the prestigious Recognition of Life Saving Award.

"A few months ago these officers were requested to check on a suicidal male," says Chief Terry Moore. "When they arrived on the scene they found the gentleman unresponsive in an enclosed garage with a lawnmower running. They quickly reacted and rendered first aid until an ambulance arrived on the scene. Their quick response and training saved this man's life."
Also during the meeting, Chief Moore requested the board approve two promotions.
Officer Jesse Crane was promoted to sergeant.
Sergeant Morgan Lee was promoted to captain.
