From the start, it appeared that the Orleans Bulldogs boys basketball team would control the outcome of the Sectional 59 game on Wednesday evening. That assumption came into fruitation when the final seconds ticked off the clock.
When it as all said and done, the Orleans Bulldogs took home an easy 74 to 27 victory over the Hornets of Medora.
At the end of the first quarter Orleans controlled the pace of the match with a 16 to 4 lead. The Bulldogs then extended their control and entered the third quarter with an 18 point positive margin, bringing the score to 32 to 14.
With only 3 points to their credit in the third quarter, Medora gave up an additional 25-points to Orleans and the Bulldogs then controlled the outcome and scored an additional 40 points in the fourth quarter.
When the final second ticked off the scoreboard, the Bulldogs walked off the court with a 47-point differential and claimed a final score of 74 to 27.
Leading in scoring for the Bulldogs was Jacob Smith with 16 points, next was Tyler Atchison with 8 points, Jerry Mathers claimed 7 points, and both Ken Stewart and Alex Williams scored 6 individual points for Orleans. Jordan Brittan claimed 8 points for Medora, followed by 6 points scored by the Hornet's Darrel Kipp.
The Orleans Bulldogs will meet West Washington this Friday night in game five of the Orleans sectional.
