The Linton-Stockon Miners advanced to the championship game of the IHSAA baseball sectional at Jacket Field on Thursday night by beating the Spartans of South Knox High School.
Linton opened the game with 3 runs in the first inning, while South Knox countered with 3 runs of their own in the 3rd inning. The Miners then erupted for 11 runs in the top of the 4th. The game was called on the 10 run rule at the end of 5 innings. In the 2nd game of the evening, the Mitchell Bluejackets blanked the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds 13-0 in 5 innings. Senior B.A. Barlow pitched a complete game 3 hitter, getting 2 hits to help his own cause. The Miners and Jackets will meet for the IHSAA sectional 47 championship Friday night at Jacket field, with first pitch set for 7:30 Eastern/6:30 Central
