(BUFFALO, NY) - The Butler Bulldogs used a 17-0 run in the second half to pull away to a 57-46 win over Old Dominion in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
AJ Graves led the Bulldogs with 18 points with Mike Green contributing a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds and Brandon Crone adding twelve points.
The Monarchs had four players in double figures with Brandon Johnson leading the way with eleven points.
ODU finishes their season at 24-and-9. The Bulldogs improve to 28-and-6 and will face fourth-seeded Maryland in a second-round game Saturday afternoon in Buffalo.
Purdue begins its march in the NCAA tournament tonight when the ninth-seeded Boilermakers face number-eight seed Arizona. The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame open their NCAA tournament run this afternoon as they face Big South champion Winthrop in Spokane.
